美女参加考试

一个漂亮的女生参加大学的期末考试，考题都为是非题。

她找到自己的考场座位坐好，盯着试卷看了三分钟，然后突发灵感，摸出钱包，取出一枚硬币，开始投掷硬币并填涂答题纸，硬币正面朝上选“是”，反面朝上选“否”。

美女只用了半个小时就答完了所有考题，而其他同学还在挥汗如雨地吃力答题。离考试结束只有10分钟了，美女又在使劲投掷着硬币。

监考老师对她的行为开始警惕，走到她的身旁问她在做什么。

“我半个小时就做完试卷了。但是，”她说，“我还得检查一遍。”

22 A Skeleton Smoking

Wayne and Bert were medical students at the same college and like many other college students they enjoyed playing jokes on people.

Both of them smoked，but they knew that is dangerous to one's health.

One day they decided to play a joke on their professor.At one of their medical lectures there was always a skeleton in the room so that professor could show the students the different bone in the human body.That afternoon，Bert and Wayne put a cigarette in the month of the skeleton that was to be used for their next lecture.

When the professor came in，he began talking and then noticed the cigarette.He went up to the skeleton，took the cigarette out of its mouth and said，"You really should give them up，old body.Look what they're doing to you！"

骷髅吸烟

韦恩和伯特在同一所大学学医，和其他大学生们一样，他们很喜欢拿别人开玩笑。

他们俩都吸烟，但心里都明白吸烟有害健康。

一天，他们决定和教授开个玩笑。在医学讲座课的房间里总

放着一具骷髅，教授可以用它来给学生们展示人体的不同骨骼。

那天下午，伯特和韦恩把一根香烟塞进了下次讲座要用的骷髅嘴里。

教授走进教室开始上课了，然后他注意到了那根香烟。于是他走到骷髅前，从它嘴里拿出香烟说：“你真该戒烟了，老兄，看香烟都把你弄成什么样子了”。

23 What Do They Laugh for？

A famous writer who was visiting Japan was invited to have a lecture at a university to a large group of students.As most of them could not understand spoken English，he had to have an interpreter.

During his lecture he told an amusing story which went on for rather a long time.At last he stopped to allow the interpreter to translate it into Japanese，and was very surprised when the man did this in a few seconds，after which all the students laughed loudly.

After the lecture，the writer thanked the interpreter for his good work and then said to him，"Now please tell me how you translated that long story of mine into such a short Japanese one."

"I didn't tell the story at all."the interpreter answered with a smile."I just said，'The honorable lecturer has just told a funny story.You will all laugh，please.'"

他们在笑些什么

一位到日本旅行的着名作家被邀请到大学给一大群学生做讲座。由于他们其中大部分人不懂英语，他不得不找了一位翻译。

讲座过程中，他用很长的一段时间讲了一个有趣的故事。最后停下来，让翻译官把它翻译成日语，令人感到惊讶的是，这个人翻译了几秒钟之后，所有的学生都大笑起来。

讲座过后，这位作家对他出色的翻译表示了感谢，并对他说：“现在请告诉我你是如何把我的长故事翻译成如此短的日语故事的？”“我根本就没讲这个故事，”翻译官微笑着说，“我只是说：'这位可敬的学者讲了一个很有趣的故事，你们笑就行了。'"

24 Which Tire Was Flat

As final exams neared，two students，very confident of their A averages Physics class，decided to spend a weeked enjoying to spare life a nearby college.Although their Physics final was the first thing Monday morning，they were reasonably certain they could pull it off.After a very late Sunday evening they overslept and did not arrive back on campus until Monday afternoon.In the hopes of avoiding failling the exam the two decided to tell their professor that they had a flat tire on the way back to campus.

Sympathetic to the situation，the professor allowed them to make up the exam.After being seated in different rooms the two opended their exam papers and began working.
