5.2 Reactor Piping
5.2.1 Layout of the piping for vertical reactors in parallel arrangement shall enable uniformly distributed flow,and ensure pressure drop across each reactor meet process requirements.
Piping layout shall meet catalyst regeneration requirements in addition to facilitating catalyst loading/unloading operations.
5.2.2 Piping layout for horizontal reactor shall allow for axial movement of equipment,and location of the fixed end and sliding end of reactor saddle shall be determined based on flexibility calculation for the main piping.
5.2.3 Piping layout for vertical continuous stirred tank reactor shall not interfere with agitator installation and maintenance,and space shall be provided on floor or platforms for disassembling and laying down reactor head.
5.2.4 Piping layout for tubular reactor shall consider the requirement for additional displacement at equipment nozzle,and proper pipe support types shall be selected based on flexibility calculation for the piping.
5.2.5 Layout of catalyst piping for fluidized bed reactor shall be designed to avoid catalyst accumulation and retention.
5.2.6 Jacketed reactor piping for steam,condensate or other heat mediun may be arranged around the reactor.
