6.7 Piping Layout for Pneumatic Conveying System

6.7.1 The piping for pneumatic conveying system shall be routed for the shortest practical run with minimum number of bends.

The horizontal pipe should not be too long, and shall be routed to avoid dead end and pockets.

6.7.2 Bends with long bending radius shall be used for layout of the piping. The radius of bend shall be determined based on conveying method, fluid properties, process requirements and flow direction, and shall comply with the requirements indicated in P&ID or the requirements specified by the manufacturer of pneumatic conveying system.

6.7.3 A straight pipe shall be provided after the feeder in piping for pneumatic conveying system, and the length of the straight pipe shall comply with the requirements indicated in P&ID or the requirements specified by the manufacturer of pneumatic conveying system.

6.7.4 Piping for pneumatic conveying system shall be provided with reliable electrostatic earthing device, and earthing jumpers should be connected to each couple of flanges in the piping.

6.7.5 Clamp type supports shall be selected for the piping for pneumatic conveying system, and support type and span shall be determined based on pneumatic conveying methods.
