Foreword

This code was developed by CISDI Engineering Co.，Ltd.together with the organizations concerned under the organization of China Metallurgical Construction Association（CMCA）in accordance with the requirements of Notice on Printing and Distributing the Development and Revision Plan of Engineering Construction Standards and Codes in 2006（Batch 2）（JIAN BIAO［2006］No.136）issued by the former Ministry of Construction（MOC）.

During the drafting process，the Code development team has made in-depth investigations and studies.Based on the welded pipes production technologies in recent years and summarizing the domestic process design of welded pipes，they have widely solicited the opinions and suggestions from China's welded pipe producers，research ＆design institutes，universities，feedstock suppliers，end-users，equipment manufacturers，industrial associations and experts in the field as well.By analyzing and studying the wellproven experience both at home and abroad for years，while taking into consideration the actual situations of the project implementation in China，the team made serious discussions and multiple revisions before the present version was reviewed and finalized.

This Code comprises 12 Chapters，respectively covering:General Provisions，Terms and Symbols，Basic Requirements，Feedstock for Production of Welded-Pipes，Production Processes of Welded-Pipes，Equipment Selection for Production of Welded-Pipes，Service Duty，Production Time and Designed Duty Ratio，Calculation of Production Capacities，Shop Layoutand Design，Production Tools，Main Technical ＆ Economic Indicators，and Environmental Protection，Labor Safety and Industrial Health.

The provisions printed in bold type are compulsory ones and must be enforced strictly.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development is in charge of the governance of this Code and the interpretation of the compulsory provisions；while CISDI Engineering Co.，Ltd.is responsible for the interpretation of the specific technical contents.All the concerned organizations，in the implementation process of this Code，are kindly requested to build upexperience and data in real sense and feed back the opinions，suggestions and data，whenever necessary，to CISDI Engineering Co.，Ltd.（address:No.1，Shuanggang Road，Yuzhong District，Chongqing 400013，China）for reference in future revision.
