5　Lifting Machinery

5.1　General Requirements

5.1.1　In addition to normal maintenance and regular turnarounds，pre-use inspection and trial run shall be performed for lifting machinery to ensure that lifting machinery is in good and safe condition before use.

5.1.2　Lifting machinery shall be installed and dismantled in accordance with the manufacturer′s documents.

5.1.3　Performance test and trial run shall be performed for lifting machinery upon completion of installation or overhaul.

5.1.4　Operating parameter of lifting machinery shall be selected according to lifting performance.

5.1.5　Any lifting machinery shall not be put into service unless attached with a tag of"Safety Inspection".

5.1.6　The hook of lifting machinery shall be removed from service if any of the following defects is observed:

a）Cracks or plastic deformation with growing opening on the hook surface.

b）Abrasion in the hazardous cross section reaching 10% of its original size.

c）Torsional deformation exceeding 10°.

5.1.7　The hook of lifting machinery shall not be directly attached to the lifting point of a workpiece.

5.1.8　The hook locking device of lifting machinery shall be in good condition.

5.1.9　Any defect in the hook shall not be repaired by welding.
