Personal Safety

I like to run and play. I need to think of the boys and girls I am playing with. Then we can have fun without getting hurt.

“Let's slide!” I called to Tommy. We raced to the slide. Tommy climbed up first. He waited at the top of the slide until Becky was out of the way. We had fun taking turns.

Playground Safety Habits

Do not play near the swings when they are being used.

Do not swing standing up.

Do not jump off the swing while it is still swinging.

Stay away from the bottom of the slide when someone is coming down.

Wait at the top of the slide to make sure no one is in the way.

Stand back from the merry-go-round while it is going around.

Do not stand on top of the monkey bars.

Take turns with the other boys and girls.

Safety in the Water

It's fun to play in the water. I am taking swimming lessons. I walk beside the pool. I do not run. Water from the pool makes it slippery around the pool. Because it is slippery, it is not a safe place to play.

My family likes to swim, too. We swim only where it is marked safe for swimming. I do not wade or swim alone.

When we go boating, I always wear a life jacket. I know it is not safe to stand up in the boat.

Water Safety Habits

Take swimming lessons.

Do not swim right after you have eaten.

Do not go swimming or wading by yourself.

Do not run beside the pool.

Wear a life jacket while you are riding in a boat.

Do not stand up in a boat.

Safety in a Storm

I stay inside during a thunderstorm. I am safe in the house or car. Inside the house I do not touch any electrical cords. I do not use the telephone.

Sometimes I am outside when a storm starts. Then I stay away from trees and water. I will not be afraid. I get inside a building as soon as I can.

Storm Safety Habits

During a thunderstorm:

Stay inside.

Do not use the telephone.

Do not touch electrical cords.

If you are outside, do not get under a tree to keep dry.

If you are in a car, stay there.

我的家人也喜欢游泳，但我们只会在有安全标示的地方游泳。我不会单独涉水或游泳。

划船时，我总是穿着救生衣，我知道在船上站着是不安全的。

暴风雨中的安全事项

雷雨期间我待在室内。在室内或车里都是安全的。在室内时我不触摸任何电线，也不使用电话。

有时候暴风雨来临时我正好在室外，我会远离树木和水。这样就不用害怕了。我会尽快躲进建筑物中。

应对暴风雨的安全行为

雷雨期间：

待在室内。

不要使用电话。

不要触摸电线。

如果你在室外，不要在树下避雨。

如果你在车里，就待在那不要动。
