What is Oracle Alta UI?

Oracle Alta UI is a set of guidelines and a web design system introduced to help developers build easy, contemporary, and user-friendly GUI applications on both web and mobile platforms. These new web standards introduced by Oracle Alta UI have helped in standardizing the application interface for numerous enterprise applications, including Oracle products and Oracle Cloud native applications. They also helped frameworks such as Oracle ADF and JET with a fresh style, trendy layout, and a consistent look and feel. A lot of effort has been put into building Oracle Alta UI, combining JavaScript, CSS, and UI templates.

Oracle Alta UI does more than just improve the look and feel of an application. It is built based on the following philosophies:

  • Mobile-first approach: With the aim of supporting both web and mobile platforms, components have been designed to provide users with a large, clear interface with touchscreen capability.
  • Simple and organized layout: The organized layout helps developers and users to concentrate on the data presented rather than ways to organize the information on a web page.
  • Clear information hierarchy: The clear information hierarchy enables application usability by giving users an intuitive interface and helping them to figure out what they want and how to navigate through the application effortlessly.
  • Engaging visual content: A clear and graphical information layout helps users to engage with visual details that clearly distinguish the mobile application from the web application with the responsive web design.
