Research on the Spread of Marxism Based on the Dimension of Stages in the May 4th Movement Period

Tian Ziyu

Abstract: This paper divides the spread of Marxism in the May 4thMovement Period into three stages, which are respectively the stage of advanced intellectuals with spontaneous and conscious awareness, the stage of spreading the Communist Party of China in an organized way, and the stage of selectively spreading Leninism. These three stages vividly highlight the basic features, channels and contents of the early spread of Marxism. The three stages are coherent in logic, which is that the former stage is the logical start of the latter stage, and the latter stage is the transcendence in quality of the former stage. The three stages clearly record the historical process from conscious spread to organized spread, and from organized spread to the form of early Chinese Marxism.
